Who we are

Animal House Birds of Prey is a dedicated Scarborough rescue center that focuses on providing essential help and rehabilitation for injured wild birds of prey, as well as offering refuge to neglected captive-bred birds that cannot be safely released back into the wild. This vital organization relies entirely on generous donations from the community, as it receives no form of government funding to support its crucial work. We proudly feature a variety of resident birds for local displays and educational visits, fostering awareness and appreciation for these magnificent creatures. Founded by the passionate and committed Cynthia Buckroyd, the center initially rescued all types of wildlife. However, following her passing in 2011, her son Trevor made the pivotal decision to shift the focus specifically to Birds of Prey in order to meet the urgent and growing need for specialized care and protection within this unique group of birds.
